Memorial Day Parade

The TroopWe marched in the Memorial Day parade today. It was a beautiful day and we had a great turnout with 22 scouts marching. After the parade we led the Pledge of Allegiance for the Memorial Day Ceremony.

Beartown State Forest Backpacking

The Troop ready to goLast weekend was the first backpacking trip that the whole troop has done in a while and with the large number of new boys we knew it would be a challenging weekend. We backpacked a few miles along the Appalachian Trail with all of our gear and food and had a chance to break out our rain gear along the way. Everyone did a great job working together and successfully completed this challenge.

Mt. Washington State Forest — Sr. Scouts

The Crew on a Log BridgeLast weekend we went on a Senior Scout Backpacking weekend where the boys 14 and older worked on camping and leadership skills and also practiced packing all of the equipment into the woods. It was a great success and whole lot of fun.

Medfield Sportsman’s Club

On the Rifle RangeThis was the first outing with some of the new scouts who recently crossed over from Webelos. It was a great weekend in that the new boys were eager to learn about camping and the older boys were great leaders and mentors. While we were there all of the boys had the opportunity to learn about firearm safety and shoot 22 caliber rifles on the rifle range.

Welcome Pack 17 Scouts!

New Scouts from Pack 17

Last night Ian, Regis, Chris and Josh welcomed 9 of the 12 new scouts from Pack 17 into the troop. The Pack 17 Blue and Gold dinner was a lot of fun and the new boys are all very excited to join Boy Scouts. This is the third group of boys joining the troop and brings the total to 27 Webelos who have crossed over into Troop 126 this year.

Welcome Pack 126 Scouts!

New Scouts from Pack 126

Richie, Chris and Brian welcomed 9 more scouts into the troop at Pack 126’s Blue & Gold dinner Friday night. It was a great ceremony and we are happy to have the boys join us. As the second group of webelos to move into Troop 126 this year these boys can start working on the Scout rank at this Tuesday’s meeting.
